Alexander Farquharson
Alexander Farquharson is an artist with over 25 years of experience working both as an illustrator and a painter. His work for educational publishing has focused primarily on history, literature and social studies, but has also covered science and religion. Of particular note are the eleven jackets he illustrated for the mystery novels by Martha Grimes. As an oil painter, Alexander has primarily worked in landscapes and still life themes. His landscapes are both plein air and studio paintings that reflect his love for rural New England. Commisions are wide-ranging from portraits and murals to pen & ink architectural drawings. His paintings have been widely displayed in New England including several one person shows. Farquharson has been teaching at the DeCordova Museum School since 1982.
